still.  so.  so.  good.

feeling rather short of energy today, so i bought myself a nuts&raisins dove chocolate bar from family mart.

except i was stupid enough to leave it on my desk near my laptop's fan outlet, and promptly found myself the proud new owner of small bag of chocolate liquid.  (luckily i hadn't opened it yet.)  our office doesn't have a refrigerator though, so i spent another half hour balancing a bottle of ice water on top of the bagged goop.

and now my chocolate is solid again =)

and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the most problem-solving i've done all day.

oh, and sleep early (<= 12 am).  even if there is a football match on tv.  sigh.

...sounds dirtier than i originally intended.  O.o

(brazilian national team = "samba kings", but i've always thought that their shoes looked like they were running on banana peels.  hence, samba bananas.)

sleeping really late last night + super long day at work = crashing out on the couch at 10 pm.  which actually turned out all right though, because when i randomly woke up at 1 am and performed my regular tv ritual (on, 五星体育, cctv5, off), lo and behold!  apparently there was a friendly between brazil and argentina, and the live broadcast was just starting.  final score 0:1 in favor of argentina, which is perfectly fine w/ me because i really can't pick a favorite between those two, wasn't scored until the last, like, minute, blahblahblah, if you cared, you'd watch the match highlights.  basically, it was 1.5 hours of chinese commentators yelling, "有机会!", “打门!", "哎呀，这次射门还真有威胁呀," in beijingese, which is always nice because, you know, it's pretty lame when the 射门 don't have 威胁...or when there aren't many 射门 at all. 

ANYWAYS.  since i didn't have any meaningful attachments to either team, i was completely free to indulge in all of my more superficial motivations for watching soccer/football.  like, all the pretty men.  1.5 hours of 20 sweaty south americans running up and down a field chasing after a ball (and 2 more alternating between standing still and ninja dive rolls at either end)?  that's like...that is like sex/pizza (...or sexpizza?):
1) even in the worst case scenario, it's just kind of...bland.  but not bad. 
2) in the best case scenario, IT'S AWESOME AND THEN YOU WANT MORE AND YOU ARE UP ALL NIGHT.  ...like right now.  O.o
3) best for late at night =D

aaaaaand because it was one of those friendlies that was actually fairly friendly, the game ended with jersey exchange.  en masse.

next up, spain vs. portugal (i.e., brazil/argentina's respective colonial masters) match up!  ESPANAAAAA!  but sadly it's on a subscription-only channel, and guess who don't have a subscription.

SO, to sum up:
1) brazil = samba bananas
2) late-night soccer broadcasts = sexpizza
3) sexpizza sounds really gross, btw.  too much of a good thing?  well, two separate good things.
4) sleep deprivation produces a lot of inappropriateness.
5) we're having fun.  you look young.

it's been over two months since i got here, and i've realized
i can imagine nothing lonelier than living without purpose.
